And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Vivien Leigh’s hair and makeup test for “Gone with the Wind” (1939)
The role she was made for. She was very high-strung and tragically lived with mental illness for most of her later life, which she shared with Laurence Olivier.
i always thought Hedy Lamarr would have been great in that role but Vivien Leigh pulled it off to a tee. congrats to her. i'll bet they both would have been hard to work with.
