And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I read that in today's San Francisco, something like 60% of the buildings in downtown are empty. It is a virtual ghost town. Aside from the nasty assed homeless addicts.
It's amazing what American cities looked like back when people who were irretrievably crazy were institutionalized instead of being given free range to live and crap on the streets in between drug deals, running naked in traffic, and assaulting and killing random bystanders.
Almost like people in the 1940s and '50s were onto something.
