  2. That one's a .454 Casull. You can tell by the roll mark on the cylinder.

    1. Still cataloged by Ruger in .44 Remington Magnum, .454 Casull and .480 Ruger. MSPR $1509.
      Sportsmans Warehouse price, $1250.
All three are on the CA Approved list. Only the .44 Mag model is currently available at Sportsmans Warehouse.

  3. Add about 4 or 5 inches to the barrel and you would really have something there. Otherwise load 44 special

  5. Not so bad compared to other 454's I've fired but really not worth putting up with the recoil for the m/v in such a short barrel.

  6. Wonder why they have both loads in the cylinder?

    1. The flat nose is for penetration. The hollow point is for expansion. With a barrel that short, you'll get all you can use out of a Colt 45 "long".

    2. Which is all the more reason to buy a Ruger Super Redhawk Alaskan in .454 Casull. It's two... two... two calibers in one. .45 Colt for fun, .454 Casull for things that surprise you on the trail on your Alaskan vacation.

  7. I can't think of anything I am mad enough at to use that to shoot them / it with. I'd bet if it could be rechambered to shoot .45ACP, it would hardly muzzle flip a'tall.
