And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I saw her with Big Brother and the Holding Company in last 1967 at the University of Santa Barbara when I was stationed at Camp Pendleton before deploying to Vietnam. The other act was Country Joe and the Fish.

ReplyDeleteWhich might be a distinction without a difference..,:)
She also got intoxicated with just about any drug around. So sad...

ReplyDeleteJanis was a genius. A great singer. Imagine what she could have accomplished by the time she turned forty. . . A terrible loss.
ReplyDeleteThe car would be worth a million, easy.
ReplyDeleteThe songs she never got to sing are priceless. Such a waste.
