And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
According to the old Campbell's commercial, you can't have soup without the sandwich, because they go together like a horse and carriage, or love and marriage.
Getting right cold here in the Lower Yakima Valley, too. Looking out my home office window up into the Horse Heaven Hills I see snow up there most daays now and we get flurries down here. Snow will be falling for real here soon. Time for soup! And stew! And beer brewed 2 blocks away! Yum!

ReplyDeleteThe best tomato/basil soup I ever had was in Georgia at a place called Wildflour, covid shut his place down so he went to a food truck business.
ReplyDelete1/2 cream of mushroom 1/2 tomato- campbell's, and a bag of oyster crackers with a comic book propped up on the table.
