    1. Yes, that is an Unrotated Projectile (i.e. rocket) launcher on the stern.

  3. Churchill wanted the class to have fewer 16 inch guns, but they were built with 14 inchers.

  4. Small world. Met my wife and lived in Rosyth for nearly 10 years before moving back to Ireland. The Brit Navy built part of their new Aircraft Carriers there. They also store old subs there.
