And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Flat Fenders, Avantis, and Citroens. My taste in transportation is questionable.
I had a 1947 Willys CJ5. Until I saw this picture, I forgot it even had shock absorbers :) I know that they never did much of anything :) [Also, noticing this one is missing the front clamp that holds the hood down :(
What's going on with this one? Is it a mil-spec version or something? Just seeing the blackout blinkers below the headlights, the heavy blinker on the fender, and the hinge pins at the base of the grill, something I've not seen before.
I always considered the CJ-3B to be the red headed stepchild of the Jeep world. I've been seeing quite a few flat fenders for sale lately. Getting the itch to do another restoration.

ReplyDeleteCJ5 wasn’t built until 1954 for the 1955 model year
DeleteMy old military '41 Dodge pickup has knee action shock absorbers. Remember them?
DeleteHell, it's even missing the radiator and engine!

ReplyDeleteBlackout blinker? I thought it was a USB port...
ReplyDeleteYour taste isn't questionable, it's eclectic and eccentric. Nothing to question there.
ReplyDeletethis M38 is a military version of the Cj3A ( minus a few parts )
ReplyDeletealways liked the M606 - a military version of the Cj3B

ReplyDeleteI'm keeping my '87 Samurai............It has flat fenders...
ReplyDeleteHad a M38 like that. Solid, simple and would get you there regardless. Not fast but steady. Miss it a lot. Can't go wrong with something like that.
