And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I am currently reading an autobiography by a man who in 1970 at 10 years of age was abducted by the Apache Indians and kept for 9 years. The un-PC term for Native Americans is "savages." And after reading about his person's treatment and how the Indians conducted themselves with "palefaces", other Indian tribes and among themselves, SAVAGES fits the description to a "t"...
Are there still Apaches? In 1970 I was 13 and I don't remember Apaches taking scalps but then again, I was busy riding my bike and might have missed them.
