And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Knew a woman who belittled her husband for bringing a glove to a game. So he left it at home, only to catch a ball barehanded breaking his wedding ring.
Look, every person is paying attention. Some reaching for the ball, others ducking for cover. No women or sissies complaining, no eyes on the smart phone.
BTW: I saw today that some kid signed a $700 million ten year contract to play baseball. Several others signed for $15 - 45 million/year. Dang!
Panama hats are essentially fedoras made of straw. The flat-brimmed hat in the picture is a boater, or skimmer. Pretty out of date even in the '50s, when that image is set.

two words- "straw hats"
ReplyDeleteI looked up "Panama hat" but it's not really the same thing as that flat brimmed hat the gentleman in the middle is holding.
