  1. we have about 10 outside feral cats here, started with 4 about 7 years ago.
they keep the critters down a lot. in winter, we have a few heated shelters for them
pad heaters from the Zon. in homemade boxes/houses . even a heated water bowel outside. we check for specials at the market on chicken or turkey and cook it up to add to their food during winter, or they get wet food added to the dry. found a place the will fix feral cats for 25 bucks each about 5 years ago. they all fixed and had their shots done. had enough kittens. and she managed to find homes for most of them too.
we lost maybe 4-5 of them over the years. but they good barn cats without the barn. they fun to watch and they do keep the critters down. although finding dead mice on the porch is not one of her favorite things to do.
still, you should treat that cat better than that.

    1. The dead mice are gifts to you. You take care of them, they take care of you!

  2. I have a cat that has access to shelter but will sit like that and let snow pile up on him.

Like women, some cats are just fucking stubborn about things.

  3. If my wife sees that she will want to adopt it.

  4. My wife wouldn't let it sit there more'n 2 seconds.
Then it would be curled up in front of the fireplace with the other 2.

  5. Sometimes you just have to let nature and animals tend to themselves, this cat knows where shelter is but does not want to move yet.

  6. Take it indoors if you want it to survive. It'll take care of the little pests in the house.

    Wintertime is hard hunting.

Also... try very hard to avoid giving any dairy stuff to cats. Most of them are lactose-intolerant, so they get dysentery from it. That's a death ticket in winter.
