  1. There's a giant, very powerful fan under the grid on the 'floor'.

    1. Or a bunch of fans at the top of the stack. I've done indoor skydiving and I'm much happier being sucked than blown.. Absolutely no sense you are falling, the walls aren't moving.

Note that she is the active partner, there is a someone running the throttle to send her up and down.

  2. I'd say she's done that before.

It sure would suck if you didn't know how to get down and you were up as high as she was. You certainly wouldn't want them to turn the fan off.

    2. Go for it. No real risks except a bit noisy in the tunnel.

    1. Don't disagree, but they're more interested in getting stable face to earth than what the I Fly gal is doing. Never had any problem getting stable. According to a vid I saw, the Army school at the Yuma Proving Ground had some difficulty teaching this -and their students are all at least experienced static line jumpers.
Went to the local I Fly with my kids. The staff were amused, but respectful to the geezer (me). Got in the cage and stabilized immediately. The instructor watched me and then told me to get my hands closer to my face which I found increased my control. During about 400 freefall jumps, I exited the aircraft and instruction was over. In the cage, the instructor was standing next to you and could go over fine points. Neat stuff!
As for the I Fly lady, her performance exceeds that of the free fall gymnastics. In addition to their stuff, she can stop and go back up.

  8. I looked up iFly and there's one within an hour or so drive in the tourist Mecca of Orlando. It looks very tiny compared to this. It's $70 for two "flights" (didn't see how long they were).
