Ground clearance is excellent. Gas mileage not so much. Cool factor is off the charts.

  1. With a piece of railroad track for a front bumper people would watch out during the morning commute...

  2. This is well done. I never understood the truck lift kit idea where the axel and what not are still low down. Do people think lifting just the body gives better performance, or is it purely for cosmetics.

    1. Lifts, properly done, allow taller tires, thus raising the clearance. Some do do it just for the looks, though.

  3. Give it the Mad Max treatment with a Gattling gun in back, a 50 cal machine gun on the roof and twin rocket launchers on the fenders. All concealed of course.

  4. All the mileage of a deuce and a half.

  5. Swap the gas engine out for an inline six diesel. Get more power and better mileage.

  6. Before my "want" goes off the charts....what would a fella have to pay for something like this?

    1. This one looks highly modified but here are a number of examples of the 1948-1952 Ford F series pickup:

    2. Steve, if you have to ask the price, you can't afford it. The price for something
like this is measured in blood, sweat and tears.

  7. O.K., Nice Mechanical work.. Now, go back and Restore and Paint the Body. Dog, What is it with these half-a** Restorations?

  8. Paint a face on it, googly eyes for headlights, and weld a metal shark smile on it that would give a P-40 or A-10 pilot a woody. Ring mount for the .50 cal on the roof, and make it look like the living personification of one of Ed "Big Daddy" Roth's Rat Fink masterpieces.

    Way cooler then.

    1. Copied Big Daddy's art in my early years as an aspiring artist, hotrodder
and car-motorcycle nut. But Roth left very few if any projects unfinished.
If you can find it, read the incredible story of the hunt for and the restoration
of the last missing Roth masterpiece, the Orbitron! Found in Mexico in
front of a porn shop being used as a garbage can! Best version ever is the
great Iowahawks long personal take on this treasure hunt.
