Too Far?

  1. I don't know about sailing but I'll bet your sail is not supposed to be in the water.

    1. Well it makes it hard to let out the boom leaving bearing off as the only option. Unfortunately, by this point the rudder is out of the water as well. The ship will self right as she bears off naturally. But I was always going over the rail at that point and standing on a centerboard. Keeps your feet dryer.

  2. Rail Down! Not that uncommon as a temporary event. The lee boards aren’t a very common configuration wonder if that contributes in this case.

    1. Lee boards indicate a design with no keel or a shallow one. A design for shallow waters. If you could see the whole ship, I'd guess that the masts aren't to tall.
If I were sailing that ship I'd be worried.
