And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Was never around 155's, but when I was in a Cal. Guard tank support unit in the mid 80's, I was next to 105's a lot. The concussion is kinda like getting punched in the face, only without the fist and all over. The Ma Deuce (M-2) 50 cal, BMG was the most fun for me, with the M-60 squad MG being second.
Yeah, the 105s are almost like popguns after spending time around 155s. I worked for the Field Artillery bubbas at Ft Irwin for 4 years. I made video tapes for them. In order to get my video footage, I went out anytime a unit was live firing. Got lots of footage of 105s, 155s and MLRS. One unit let me fire the MLRS. Pretty cool. I was 20 years in the Infantry so it was all different to me.
was part of M109 crew and got caught a couple meters off the side of the piece during fire mission. felt like someone popped me on the side of the head w/ a 2X8.
M119A2's, used mostly by light units in 18th Airborne Corps. 25th ID, 10th Mountain, 82nd ABN DIV, 101st Air Assault, and 173rd ABN Brigade. Though the 82nd's M119er's is being replace by M777A2's, and those that had M777's are going HiMars.
