  2. Carpenter of 32 years. This is my go to saw. I always use a saw with a cord. Power is unmatched if you use an appropriate lead cord.15 Amp so no less that a 14 gauge on 25'. 12 gauge on a 50'. Blow out the internals with compressed air after each day's work.

  3. About 35 years ago I got a Porter-Cable saw with a quarter-inch aluminum base plate. I only do DIY stuff, but I’ve built a couple dozen large projects including a large barn and it has never let me down. I’ve replaced the cord and swap out blades pretty regularly. It’s not light and my arm gets a good workout. One of my sons will still be using it long after I am under the sod.
