      peaches have to be just-right ripe. a sales window of maybe twenty days in NYC. at that, never seen a ripe nectarine.

  4. It's a pity, but peach pits contain a potentially dangerous chemical called amygdalin that can creates poisonous cyanide when digested.

  8. I envy that man.

    Bastard landlord cut down two rows of peach trees that had been here for 50 years, to put in useless sidewalks for the zero people in wheelchairs that have ever needed them here.

    After I scrupulously de-pested (look up peach wasps some time), pruned, fed, watered, and tended my tree for the last 25 years, I now have to buy my peaches.
