And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I have one. Love it. Just finished building a deck with it. Accurate to a 16th. More accurate than needed for the banana lumber from Home Despot than I did the deck with, mind you. I find it especially useful for inside measurements.
What I need is a device that can measure distances , like up to 200 feet or so, through objects. like I can set the transmitter down on a property line and walk with the receiver and measure a straight line through my toolshed or thick underbrush something.
There is no "device" that will do what you want, as there is still no device that can make obstructions transparent.
But there are techniques to get around such things as obstacles. Too complicated to explain here but the method is rather simple when you think about it.
Clue: Rather than measuring where the obstacle is, measure where the obstacle is not.
That’s what I’m saying . The digital tape measure in the post uses a laser or radar , seems to Me it could also be done using some type or radio or radar that knows how far apart the transmitter and receiver are based on the time it takes for the radio signal to reach the receiver. Kind of like a miniature mobile GPS ,
I know they have setups similar to this for surveying , that use the actual GPS but they cost $60k and up . Plus I don’t need to know where I am realitive to the world , just realitive to the transmitter , and I don’t need to know where , just how far away .
Measure once, cut once, head to Lowe's for more lumber, measure twice with tape this time, cut.
