    1. Agreed. Once a year at Pima Air and Space Museum the docents set it up so regular folks get to climb the ladder into their 71 and sit in the driver’s seat. A few years back my son and I were there that day. What a gas!

  2. The 71 was a magnificent plane built using slide rules. The other two were designed with computers and do not impress me in the least.

  3. The SR-71 flies entirely under pilot control too.

  4. How slow can the SR71 fly?

  5. I have met Brian Shul twice. Both were motivational speeches where he embraced his audience with stories about the SR-71. He was the all-star sled driver.

  6. You can see the SR71 at Wright Patterson AFB museum. The most wicked-awesome aviation museum ever. B36, B52, B1, etc. etc.

Also, I love the B2 flyovers at Arrowhead where midwest folks proudly stand for our national anthem.

    1. I encourage everyone to go to the AF museum at WPAFB - they have some great planes from WW2 as well as models of B-52 / B1 / B2. The scale of the place is astounding.
