And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Prior to 1986 USAF wore the "pickle" work uniform unless you were PJ's or in the Joint unit. I wore the OD green uniform in basic and at my first tech school. Then I put on the jungle BDU as I went to the Joint unit.
I was issued the 'pickle' work uniform and white t-shirts on the very last day they issued them in Basic Training at Lackland AFB, in late October 1987.
Gotta be early to mid 80’s. Standard green fatigues, subdued stripes & patches, but white T-shirts. I got issued OD fatigues with subdued tapes in basic in 1980. The BDU stuff & OD tees didn’t become standard untill 1988 or 89. If memory serves, they started phasing that suff in around 86 or 87.
