And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I was in Tulsa, OK 25 years ago. All of the small manicured trees in the office park were tethered and stil all leaned the same way. I was there for 4 days during which the wind never stopped blosing, day or night. My dad told of flying into OKlahoma City in the early 1970's, only for the winds to blow hard enough to ground his small plane. While he was waiting for the winds to subsitde, he watched a J-3 Cub land, in headwinds that were greater than the Cub's cruising speed, backwards down the runway.
