And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Northwards from Redding into the southern Cascades, yesterday
I'm a hundred miles south of CW and it's been coming down all day. But up on the hill (Donner and Echo passes, per CalTrans webcams) it just doesn't look like it's accumulating much. But the good news is that traffic has been flowing all day on both 50 and 80, which is somewhat unusual during a winter storm. Snow levels are relatively high right now, just over 6000' I'd guess.
Polar vortex on the way, nationwide snow coming next week. Europe going to get it too.
