And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
We (my parents) had a Saab 96 in the late 60's & early 70's very similar to the one pictured above. Two stroke, three cylinder. I grew up adding oil to the tank at every fill-up. It was weird to my young self when we bought a "normal" car later on.
During 1967 bought a SAAB 96 using European Delivery option and after driving it more than 1000 Km was able to import it into USA as a used car. SAAB delivered it FREE to New Haven, CT. Price was $1,300. It was slightly diffferent from export model: Body was slightly thicker steel and paint job was much more robust. However the European ignition system was a problem during cold, rainy East Coast winters. Ran the car for over 125,000 miles before selling it.
Just do recall SAAB TV commercial where a model was rolled end-over-end down a hill. Set it upright and away she went. Mind's ear can still hear the put-put-put of their 2-cycle engines.
