The osprey is back, and it has another fish it's tearing apart on the bull pine behind the house. Must be an easy life.

  1. Catch and release is way over rated. Fishing kills fish.

  2. It's an easy life but only if you know how to hunt. The Osprey is a superb hunter.

  3. There was a derelict sloop near my slip that had an osprey nest that was untouched by human hands for about 3 years. The boat finally got recycled. Cool birds on the Chesapeake, up the muddy West River.

  5. I have an osprey nest in the Norfolk pine in the front yard. It’s fun to watch mom and dad bring fish for the young’ us.

  6. I was out in the Boundary Waters on a houseboat. Walked out onto the deck about 7am and a Bald Eagle flew and perched in a tree 30 feet away. Huge bird, majestic, until a Golden Eagle 1/3 size larger chased it away like a common starling.
