  1. My pellet grill was one of the greatest purchases ever, turns a chump into a champ!

  2. No matter how great it is I will NEVER pay someone to convert my wood into pellets and sell it to me in a bag. Maybe for a little more money they'll come over and cook yoiur dinner for you. This is just like all of the people who buy and brew their coffee in a Keurig machine and think they are drinking the best coffee around.

    1. Charcoal/briquettes must be free where you live?

  3. Until they get clogged up & go out in the middle of the cook. No thanks, I'll stick with charcoal.

  4. nah, jus build a fire off to the side for coals and put some coals under the meat. You can cook low & slow, FER HOWG...jus right.

  5. Use my Green Mountain Grill several times a week. After 6 years I’ve only replaced the igniter. Never had a pellet clog issue. You won’t do a brisket on charcoal where you’re going to cook for 16 hours

    1. Only had one clog, used cheap pellets that sat for a couple of weeks in humidity. Pulled and cleaned the auger and threw the cheap pellets out. Never had any other issues in over 3 years. Bashing pellet grills or keurigs is ignorant, both of these devices simplify life. Still using a horse and buggy to get around??

  6. Offset with logs. Pells don’t smoke the same

  7. When yer young and and full of piss 'n' vinegar, getting up every 3 hours to check your vents and stir your coals is not such a big deal. Also, cleaning up that charcoal smoker mess might feel easy-breezy. But for old men such as I, a pellet smoker allows me to keep on cooking with excellent results. Use what works for yourself and enjoy the food!

  8. Traeger's are cheaply-made chinesium (at least they are now). When our deck is finished I'm looking into buying a pellet grill from www.smokinbrothers.com They're a little pricey but made in the USA and I've heard nothing but good things about them. No, I don't work for them...

  9. Look at the Smoke Daddy attachment for a smoker. Traeger doesn't smoke enough IMO but the Smoke Daddy do. Very wise idea from Alabama, I think.
