  2. That looks like some difference in size! I'm not really familiar with the Huskey but I have been around German Shepherds & have an idea on their size.
A male German Shepherd is 66-88 lbs, a male wolf is 66-180 lbs! I did not realize that wolves were that much larger.

  3. How about throwing in a chihuahua as a size reference and maybe a snack later for the wolf.

  4. I think this is misleading or photoshopped
According to Wikipedia the AVERAGE North American male wolf weighs 79# and females 5-9# less. It does state that larger ones occur but that's the average
I am very familiar with Siberian Huskies, and my champion bred male Husky weighed 59-60#'
Smaller yes -- but not like that picture shows

    1. Anon, the wolves introduced into Idaho are as large or larger than the two shown in the thread above this one. No photo shopping is required. No misleading other than by Wiki.

During winter when the snow prevents elk and deer herds from escaping the wolves will kill as many as they can just to kill them. Forget about the stories of eating the liver and such. They just kill and they are large animals.

  5. Well, a pack of huskies will pull your sled, keep you warm all night, and lick you all over. A pack of wolves will end you.

    1. The huskies will also feed you in an emergency.

  6. Here in the UP of Michigan we are overrun with wolves and of course the state lies about the number of them. Last night about 3 a.m. they woke me up with their howling. I have seen some huge ones and most of us here never go out in the woods unarmed. And as far as public statistics are concerned we have learned to deal with the problems and say nothing. 7. There’s a stuffed grey wolf in a local museum, and it threw me when I saw it for the first time. It’s huge.

  8. Huskies are 50-60 pound dogs. They are also heavily muscled and will be smaller than a German Sheppard puppy of the same weight.

  9. I had a close farmer friend (now deceased) who shot one that was going after his calves. He and I put it on his stock scale, and it weighed 203 lbs.---ken

  11. A lot of the racers' dogs are in the 40-50 pound range. A big Malemute can be over 100.

  12. And then there is the giant Malamute. My son had one. Easy to train.
