"I meant to do that..."

I like how that operator jumps out and starts to run at the end.

  1. More than anything, he's probably pissed he turned an easy two-week gig at union scale into a half a day, and lost out big-time in the paycheck.

  2. Yeah, his bailing out and running blows the "I meant to do that" intention.

  3. I have been STRUCK AT BY lightning on the tarmac reconstruction ON HOUSTON CONT years ago. I LEAPED OFF a LS 418A from the back. OVER the hand rail just before the Counter Weight. Like to broke my neck BUT IT MISSED ME Got the end of the boom. My hair stood up all day or longer. THAT was the 3RD time, first on a Crane.

  4. I'd say that was intentional. The operator made sure to pull the ball out of the drop zone and turned the cabin so his door was directly away from the dust cloud and he could jump down to the track. He still needed to run a bit to keep ahead of the cloud

  5. No union in 3rd world countries. Look at the shape of the crane. Needs more than just a squirt of paint and that is common from what I have seen in Asia. Look at the way the dude hauled ass. This was not intentional.

  6. The building was set to trip. Shear walls at both ends relieved, all the other columns wrecked, and this was the last one. He should have been back at the hinge instead of in the impact zone, but he swung the figure eight with the ball like a pro. Been there done that.

    1. Agree. There's no way 1 column was supporting that whole thing.

  7. Getting caught in that cloud of pulverized cement dust could ruin your lungs forever. I'd run too, if that were me.
