First Officer Maureen Dunlop, one of the ferry pilots of the ATA (Air Transport Auxiliary) who transport newly manufactured aircraft from the factory to the aerodrome during World War II. She is sitting in the cockpit of a new Baracuda.

Yelling at the ground crew at the top of her lungs...

    1. Not just new, but repaired aircraft were flown by them. And just like in the US, they got no respect from TPTB.

  2. Those early Barracudas had a problem with the oil pressure gauges - they were direct measurement-type, and prone to springing leaks squirting fluid directly into the pilot's faces. As the hydraulic oil had an ether component, it would quickly render them unconscious, leading to fatal unexplained crashes.
