A mechanic totaled a $3.4 million Ferrari when he smashed into a tree stump on a test drive. The bright red Enzo sports car, one of only 400 made, had two wheels ripped off and may be irreparable.
I recall a show a few years ago. It seems that there is really only something like one real mechanic for that kind of car on each continent. They are very very rare. I'd like to hear the real story some day.
I've seen some of the nearly crushed to a cube rarities of the musclecar era "restored". A water-cooled checkbook says they'll jack the VIN plate up, slide a new car underneath it and call it rebuilt.
That why you test drive, could be mechanical fault. Like new airplane ( cost hundred of millions) need test pilot, performance car need to shake out all the kink before the owner get it after work is done. Crash is possible outcome in the business of high end performance car shop. Hope the shop insurance cover this. If the owner can afford a 3.4 millions sport car, the lost is not going to be a hit. Not like it is making him any money.
That crash was probably like the first time you had sex at 15 years old...Whaaaa...its over.
ReplyDeleteI cringe whenever I see something like that. Sometimes accidents happen... but not usually $3.4 M ones.
ReplyDeleteDo we suspect he was pushing it a little?
ReplyDeleteAnd that in a country where the speed limit is low enough to assure you can always stop before you get to the border.

ReplyDeleteI've seen two tv shows that have rebuilt wrecked big dollar Ferraris. Just depends on how much you're willing to spend.
ReplyDeleteThat mechanic will never be seen again.
ReplyDeleteHe was a idiot for driving it Slavery should be legal in this case, he has $3.4M to work off.
ReplyDeleteI'd bet the bits left on the ground after the tow truck left were worth £100K
ReplyDeleteAnd now the owner has a a $3.4 million piece of shit.
ReplyDeleteCar owner really feel bad for such mind blowing car!..https://www.carsinsurancetoday.com/2022/01/how-to-get-car-insurance-claims-after.html
ReplyDeleteCold tires, inexperienced driver, 'adequate power' owner should have taken it to the dealership.

ReplyDeleteHow I lost my job.
