And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I agree, you should have one. While you're at it, Mr Wealthy, go ahead and pick one up for me too since I've been wanting once since the first time I saw it in late 1963 at age 8. Come on man, it's only money! LOL
I made the mistake once of finding one for sale in the midwest that was red, restored, and gorgeous. However, after I'd pushed my tongue back into my mouth, I used all my powers of resistance developed over the years from keeping the beautiful but high maintenance women at bay, and scrolled away. Yes, it's only money, that's the problem.
I remember my father buying one in 1964. We were to pick it up later that afternoon. Supercharged and a 4 speed. On the way home we see a Corvette that got wrecked. My father asked me if the Corvette was fiberglas and when I told him it was he turned around got the money back on the Avanti.
2 years ago they had a Studebaker exhibition at a place near Hershey PA. I got some great pictures of the cars there. https://www.aacamuseum.org/exhibits-experiences/#current_exhibit. https://www.aacamuseum.org/exhibit/studebaker-cool/
The trophy wife of the only doctor in my small town drove 3 Avanti's from the mid 60's to 1980 when she switched over to a Mercedes convertible. They were cool cars.

ReplyDeleteMy idea of perfect styling ended with my 56 Lincoln. With Smitty steel-packs...was like cruising in a Chris-Craft.......
