And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
A little trigger work and decent sights and you are good to go to the National Matches. Past that, a National Match barrel and a tightened slide might help. Great firearm. I was raised with it and still love it.
My EDC is a COLT COMMANDER 80/converted to a 70 & a few more tweaks by WILSON! I have a COLT GOV'T same-same. It will be a EDC also WHEN I get the right holster. All this since TEXAS became a CONSTITUTIONAL CARRY STATE.
In '64 I was weaned on a Mauser HSc that set me back $30 or so. Legal no question cash purchase. A year later Uncle taught me care & feeding of a 1911. Still content with a standard mil-issue 1911. Occasionally a Smith Model 27 catches my eye but I'll continue to dance with who brung me. Vet much regret losing the HSc in one move or the other.
Nice and without a lot of frills

ReplyDeleteAs long as that backstrap is checkered, those grips are fine with a proper hold. And that bore looks a bit bigger than a standard 45. 50?
ReplyDeleteChamfered muzzle not 50 cal.
ReplyDelete8/10. Needs work.
ReplyDeleteThe hammer, trigger, and barrel bushing should all be the same midnight black.
