And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Am I old if I remember that Bruce Peterson's real life 'Lifting Body Aircraft' crash sequence was used as the opening scene of the Six Million Dollar Man tv series?
You are correct. "Steve Austin, Astronaut. A man barely alive. 'Gentlemen, we can rebuild him. We have the technology. We have the capability to make the world's first bionic man. Steve Austin will be that man... We can make him better than he was. Better. Stronger. Faster.'"
In the 70's I occasionally worked on a flight line with Starfighters. They had a special leading edge on the wings that was sharp enough to cut you. When they came back from high speed flight that leading edge was hot enough to brand you. They were a Skunkworks creation.
I saw one up close in Japan in the 1970s (JSDF, not ours.) All thrust, cannot be much lift from those tiny wings. Contrasted with a Phantom, like a sports car next to a dump truck.
F-104 Widow Maker....like a beautiful woman....gorgeous and dangerous all in one package....seems the German version of the Blue Angels flew 4 of them into a mountain at the same time....gotta be some sort of record....
AWESOME 😎
