  2. Mercury trucks were renamed Fords built in Canada. They did the same with a few others as well.

    1. Merc trucks in the early 50's had some extra and unique chrome in the cab.

  3. My brother-in-law in Tennessee had a neighbor with several junk cars in his yard. One was an Edsel Ranchero. I'd never seen one before and assumed it was someone's build. Later, when Google came along, I found out there was such a thing.

  4. I once saw, a long time ago, a 69' Chevelle that was actually a Canadian Beaumont.

    1. Beaumonts and Acadians were available only in Canada and Brazil. The Canadian ones had a small maple leaf in the hood emblem, while the Brazilian ones had a palm tree. Many models had Chevrolet drivetrain and Pontiac interiors, whit the SD / Sport Deluxe models equipped with the GTO dash and upholstery.

  6. Maybe an old Forest Service or Utility truck - because of the crew cab, which were rare back then? Railroads have skinnier wheel stance to ride the tracks.

  8. Canadian. I noticed in the movie "An Unfinished Life" Robert Redford's character had a broken down Mercury pick up truck.
