And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Our local Shoe Repair shop closed down in January. Almost 100 years between him and his father fixing and making shoes and a hundred other leather or canvas goods. He could never find a younger person willing to put in the work as an Apprentice. Sad times they are a-coming!
I didn't wear hearing protection until my 50's. Shot a 500 SW wo ear plugs, by then it was to late. That day ringing never stopped. My harley during teen age years had straight exhaust. Same with the stock cars- no mufflers. Got away with it a long time. Never gave it a thought I'd make till retirement.
Those scenes could have been from the 1870's. Amazing and I am willing to bet that there are axes they made all those years ago still plying their trade.
