This picture somehow looks as if it was taken in Germany in the Fifties.
The 'device' is a pram or stroller; also known as "Kinderwagen" (= childrens cart). It was definitely only for babies or very young kids; the dog and the older children had to walk. Yes, tough times, I know.

  4. Germany? Could well be. No direct knowledge either way but mein pfennig was on England.

Then 'der Kinderwagen' would have been a right-hand drive. So my strong guess is Germany. ;-)

    1. Yeah, I was thinking, "that's not a happy woman!" When I was over there in the service I might have been able to fix that for her. Temporarily anyway.

  7. What is that object on the sidewalk behind the woman? Some sort of container? Would that help locate this?
