And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Just took one down, heavily affected by wind and they retain rain, mine lasted 2 months, stated tearing, tie connections were failing.......Okay while it lasted.
First decent wind to come along will rip that right out of it's anchors....and take some structure with the fasteners. While not a bad idea in sunny regions they MUST be anchored properly....and even then you are taking a chance on structural damage if you attach it to a house.
I have a tan 40x8' one from amazon across the back deck. "Screen Tarp" or 'fence privacy screen' are other names for it, a few different colors available, black ones from horrible freight will get you a few years if you're lucky. Had a 12x24 one over the greenhouse for many years, with a 12x16 one across the original deck. The really do lower the temperature below them. I use stainless eye hooks as mounts on both the house and deck rail side with 6" bungee balls through the tarp eyelets. There's enough flex and pull with the elastic that I've never lost an eyelet in 15yrs, and I get 40-60mph gusts several times a year. The stretch is where you win with these.
