  1. Not too bad. It's the depthing that takes effort to design. But there are only 4 transitions. At least in this view. Crank, idler, to the cluster. I assume the big gears on the outter circle are geared to the top ones... Looks like cam shafts driven by the crank in the center...

    1. Though the pic is not the Antikythera device, the Antikythera mechanism is one of the most amazing stories I've ever read. Utterly fascinating that 2000 years ago a navigational device was invented that tracked, with the utmost precision, the sun, moon, planets, etc., and accurately calculated eclipses. Incredible. Check the YouTube documentaries.
