And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
You should try sitting on a bucket, on Lake Saint Clair, with a two foot fishing pole, when the ice boats come screaming across the lake, if you want a good scare.
They move incredibly fast, and don't appear to steer with a lot of precision. But whatever floats your boat.
It's my understanding that for a time, ice boat sailing was the faster mode of human transportation. Nothing man made went faster.
