Interesting that the Cheetah blew right by an easier kill to take down a younger member of the herd. Younger = tastier perhaps?
I think younger = weaker and somewhat slower and less maneuverable. Also, I think that once it has it's prey picked out, the focus and concentration on that individual is pretty intense, affording the best chance of success.
Yep, going for the easiest to kill once taken down. And the tunnel vision of adrenaline is a real thing for all mammals.
