Excellent news!

The Warthog lives!!

Via Weasel Zippers and Stars and Stripes:

"When the Air Force announced plans to retire the A-10 Thunderbolt aircraft, also known as the “Warthog,” the outcry from servicemembers was loud, steady … and ultimately heard in the halls of Congress.
Last month, the House voted to bar the Air Force from axing the plane, a move that pleased those who valued the A-10′s abilities in support of ground troops."

    1. The American public saved the Warthog for the sake of the ground pounders. The Air Force (sometimes cynically referred to as the "chair force") wanted to replace it with a one billion dollar (by the time they're done counting out the money) F-35.

They are by far a more effective aircraft than that POS F-35 will ever be !
