John Kerry - so trusted around the world that the Egyptians feel it necessary to have him and his aides go through a metal detector before meeting with Al Sissi

An "in your face" insult if there ever was one.  Kerry in particular and this administration in general are really no longer welcome in this part of the world.

I guess we really have experienced Hillary's reset, but not in the way she thought it was going to work.

"An unusual screening process occurred involving Kerry and his State Department team as they were subjected to a metal detector before meeting with President Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi at the Egyptian presidential palace."
"Reuters reports that Kerry and his aides were checked with a metal detector. Security personnel reportedly raised a handheld metal-detector wand to Kerry’s suit jacket before waving him through."
"Kerry’s aides were also subjected to the handheld wand and were told to walk through a metal detector."

  1. For the record, I'd want to have somebody wand wooden-top before I met with him too. And also ask him to sanitize his hands because I know where they've been.

  2. A real Secretary of State would have turned around and walked away. A great Secretary of State would have turned around and walked away while asking his assistant to get the Secretary of Defense on the phone.

  3. Y'know, every time I've seen this story in the last few days my first read is that Kerry had to go through a mental detector -

Which leads inevitably to the image of some guy looking at the readout and going "Nope, no response...."
