I once had the opportunity on the Lassen-Applegate Trail to watch an old guy drape a piece of leather over his knee and he knapped a piece of obsidian into a spear head. A great tie to a time long past.
Spent part of a Oregon high desert summer next door to a knapper. He was interesting and talented, and keeping the art alive.
