And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I love Scouts. I have a '75. As for soft top vs hard top..... The hard top leaks so bad that they are about equal in keeping rain out. If you do not have a headliner and sound deadening, and most don't, then they are just about equally loud as well. Using the hoist in my garage, it takes 45-60 minutes to remove or install the hard top. If you like to run the rig topless it is absolutely worth it to run a soft top. The soft tops are quite expensive (about $1100-$1300). However, A lot of Scout owners ,understandably, never take the top off. This makes it easier to weatherproof and prevents scratches. To each their own. ..... Happy to answer any other Scout questions.
I'd prefer a removeable hardtop.
ReplyDeleteThat canvas/vinyl is loud in the rain and has no insulation value.
Exactly right.
DeleteThat's okay Ghost, I'll take it just the way it is. I ain't nearly as picky as most.
ReplyDeleteThis is one of snippy's snipes I can agree with.
