And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Marine Corps LAV (Light Armored Vehicle.). Troop carrier version. Not enough antennas for the command version. 30mm cannon. Can do 60+ on the highway. I’ve been retired 30years so I don’t know if they are still in service.
Coulda used one of those last evening. Wife and I were returning from Leavenworth, Wa. and timed it PERFECTLY to be stuck in Portland rush hour traffic. Ugh...
I'll stick with the original M1 (with the 105mm canon) , no speedometer but we guessed we doing over 60 maybe close to 70, the newer heavier version with 120 is, I've heard (I was long gone by then), much slower.
"...hey, hey, charlie boy, heard you got a brand new toy. Sixty tons of rolling steel, tell me boy how does it feel?!
Makes you wanna shout left, left, left right a left!"

ReplyDeleteThey are still in service and because the last CMC $hit canned tanks, the USMC thinks that these oversized trucks will be a good substitute.
DeleteNeeds a couple of gatling guns if you're going into the city.
ReplyDeleteKinda sucks for those poor bastards riding inside.

ReplyDeleteFill it up and check the air in the tires.
ReplyDeleteThat 25mm Bushmaster is proving to be very effective.

The doggies still have the brand-new M-1. It's something like 72 tons and is supposed to be a real maintenance nightmare.
