And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Everything is traditional except that one guy who built the black house in the back.
I have different taste and ideas, live in a free country and can afford to build what I like.
If you don't like it you can move into The Villages (or any other HOA driven community). Every house looks the same, HOAs tell you what colors, shrubs and Xmas decorations are allowed (and when). They also tell you if you can park your own car on your driveway (some don't allow trucks). Nevermind parking a boat or RV in the premises.
Ah yes… they want to move into a neighborhood and want to build their “dream home” or “forever home”. Upset all the neighbors with the design and the construction is a local nightmare. Then they end up selling the house within five years and moving on.
I've seen this before. Pick any quaint little seaside village near a metropolitan area. It'll be traditional charming homes, many of them very old. And then there's that one couple who can't help themselves, but are convinced to their shoes it's saving the neighborhood.
That's the idiot city guy who tore down the old house and put up that monstrosity. The sad part of it, is that he doesn't actually live there and only comes up one or two times a year for a week or two at a time.
The unfortunate part is that one of his friends will come there and try to outdo him with a more unseemly monstrosity on the opposite side of the island
I've Money! I'm somebody special and better than anybody else!

DeleteJust because you can does not mean you should.

ReplyDeleteEasy to spot the neighborhood A-Hole's place ,LOL
ReplyDeleteAt the extreme left is a non-traditional ranch-type house. Don't hear any griping about that.
