  1. Interesting that the Germans designed a bus to compliment Paris years after they marched into the city and were marched back out. Rumor was Hitler's last words were, "Is Paris burning?" His officers said, "Yes Mine Fuhrer... burning to the ground" just to hasten that pistol up to his mouth. This bus could be call art nouveau, truly.

  2. Let's not slide the thread from a cool looking bus to round three of the ongoing political goat rope in Europe. I'll bet replacement windows are the biggest problem.

  8. Photoshop? I've read a lot about the postwar resurrection of BMW and I don't remember anything about buses. BMW's biggest engine prior to 1968 was the 2.5litre V8 found in the 507.

  10. People forget that prior to positioning themselves as a luxury brand in the 1960s, Mercedes was mainly known outside West Germany as a builder of taxis and busses, and not particularly well-regarded beyond that forté.

    2. It's also a bus built by another current German luxury car company, demonstrating that what Germans needed a lot more than luxury sedans for some good number of years after the late unpleasantness was busses, not high-falutin' personal "driving machines", because they're generally a sensible and practical people.

In my optimism, I didn't think that needed to be spelled out.

    3. Can't tell where the driver side is, but the entry door is on the left. Also, is it front or rear engine?
