And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I have probably seen a couple dozen youtube vids lately on the de Havilland Beaver, and have become a huge fan of the plane. There was major input from the bush pilots during the design and engineering stage, resulting in a plane that is still loved and on the job 70 yrs. later. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4wQjAB-jnI8
I've ridden a few times, configured like the pix with pontoons, to fly into remote hunting camps in the NWT. That was pretty neat. But I'm not a plane afficinanto so it was probably wasted on me.
My first job as an apprentice was helping to maintain and load three Beavers, two Otters and a pair of Cessna 185s at a lake in NW Ontario. Much easier to work on than an Otter with it's terrible cowl design. The door on the Beaver is shaped like that so you can roll a 55 gallon drum through it. Al_in_Ottawa
A guy had a beautifully restored Beaver on a large lake in the northern Adirondacks back in the 90s i got a few rides in and what a really cool plane they are…. Klaus
