  1. I have probably seen a couple dozen youtube vids lately on the de Havilland Beaver, and have become a huge fan of the plane. There was major input from the bush pilots during the design and engineering stage, resulting in a plane that is still loved and on the job 70 yrs. later.

    1. I've ridden a few times, configured like the pix with pontoons, to fly into remote hunting camps in the NWT. That was pretty neat. But I'm not a plane afficinanto so it was probably wasted on me.

  2. My first job as an apprentice was helping to maintain and load three Beavers, two Otters and a pair of Cessna 185s at a lake in NW Ontario. Much easier to work on than an Otter with it's terrible cowl design. The door on the Beaver is shaped like that so you can roll a 55 gallon drum through it.
