And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
On Cobb Parkway in Marietta. One way to give people directions. "At the Big Chicken turn right or left or whatever. Go so many miles and you are there."
It's a national historic landmark. KFC bought it when the original chicken joint went out of business. My first day in Marietta I got directions based on the Big Chicken. What?
Best known landmark in metro ATL other than Stone Mountain. Marietta's not so bad; but the west side of Cobb County has gone Mogadishu. Everyone packs heat, and Cobb's popo are notoriously tough, so the East side of the county is a pretty good place to live. Chicken is 53 feet tall. Always good for a "What th' hell?" from surprised visitors.
The World famous "Big Chicken" in Marietta, Ga.

DeleteIt actually didn't start out as a KFC. It was some other chicken joint first.
