When you need it, you really need it.

  1. I really struggle to understand why this would be needed. If you have wrecked a car so bad that the seat belt is locked and a window needs to be broken to get out, you probably won't be fit to use one of these. Just sayin.

    1. Maybe I want to be a hero if I come upon an accident.

    2. I was among the first at an auto accident (a van rolled) and it was really really hard to break the windows let alone get the people out of the seat belts.
I bought a folding knife with a striker (like that) and seat belt cutting slot that I keep in the car just in case that ever happens again.

  2. Supposedly, the headrest can be pulled up out of the seat and the metal beam the pad is fastened to can be used to break out a window.

    1. After you find and fumble with the catch. Some you have to insert a paper clip into a small hole to disengage the latch. That’s there to keep you from removing it and throwing it away.

  3. "Wear resistant"???? How many times do they think I'm going to need one of these???!!! And to echo an earlier commenter- if you really need this, you're probably not capable of reaching or using it.

  5. A blade that has to be pushed into the belt, instead of pulled, is not a good thing.
