And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

The gun would work better as a gun, not a club (unless he's out of ammo)
I was hearing today (radio) that there are more Bengal tigers in captivity in Texas, many of them being held illegally and under-the-radar, then there are, total, in the wild. No idea if it's true.
I enjoy these old covers. Remember well seeing them (or similar) at Grandpa's house sitting in the magazine rack next to his chair. Secret pleasure was making off with a back issue to read stories and gawk at ads - always sneaking it back in the rack hopefully before he noticed it was missing. Learned not to take current or last month's issue because he was bound to be looking for it any time he sat down and Bonanza wasn't on.
The ads in the old magazines were the best and fascinating to see. I have a '70 Rifle magazine that I bought on eBay because it had an article on the then recently released Ruger No. 1 that I wanted to read. Just inside the front cover were full page ads for Redfield scopes and a Ruger ad for the also new M77 rifles, which were first produced in a short action version only. The thing I find most fascinating about the ads were the number of gun related companies that were based in California. Now they're all gone, except for RCBS, which is still in Oroville. Even Weatherby has left for Wyoming. Gotta go. 'Cheyenne' is coming on in a couple of minutes.
In 1962 you could order a M1A1 with the bolt removed as a dewat for around 65 bucks. Take it to the country and drop the blot in and have a ball. Take it out and go home and be legal. Those were the days Backwoods Okie
