And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I remember one of the initiation harassment traditions in my Boy Scout Troop was to send the new guy across the camp to another patrol to find the "bacon stretcher." Of course the other patrol would send him back across the camp to another patrol group and so on. This item is as close to the fictional Bacon Stretcher as I have seen.
Sent a nube out for a "left handed smoke shifter" To his credit, another troop sent him back with a large wood pallet...... Almost lost that kid on the Snipe hunt
